Little Rascals and a little rest

Today really was the start of the parade season - hooray! Aunt Ces & I have a tradition for Little Rascals: every year, we meet at Houston's when they open at 11, eat lunch and then go out to watch the parade. We've done it with Trenton and then Nick, and now, best of all, Princess Maddie, joined us today. She wore her "Mardi Gras fairy" costume, but didn't love the headband I made. No surprise, the little princess kept the tiara on!

The Mardi Gras fairy and I waiting for the parade.

Catching beads. She really liked catching stuff and loved the floats. She waved at all of them and wanted everything they threw. She even fought for a pair of beads. (And won.)

The bands fascinated her and she clapped for them as they passed.

She really wanted to join a dance team, and stomped along with this one.

Parades are a lot of hard work, so she stopped to take a rest on Aunt Ces. She actually bopped herself to sleep. She bopped her head to the music and one time, it just couldn't bop back up. We let her nap for 20-30 minutes and then woke her for the rest of the parade. She got right back up and started waving at the truck driver and the float.

Our friends - Tiffany, Frank & Frank, Kim, Emily & Philip, Texann, Haley & Rob and Jessica, Luke, Alex & Joe were at the parade, too. I loved watching Haley yell "hey!"

Maddie, my sweetie, it is the best thing in the world to share my favorite things with you and watch you enjoy them, too.
